About Dr. Beattey

Robert A. Beattey, JD, PhD, ABPP is a clinical and forensic psychologist with a focus on neuropsychological, civil, and criminal forensic assessment. He is board certified in forensic psychology. Dr. Beattey is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science at the UC Davis School of Medicine. He previously served as Chief of Psychology at Fairfax Behavioral Health in the Pacific Northwest. Also an attorney, he teaches and conducts research unified by a focus on evidence-based decision making in clinical, legal, and public policy contexts.  Dr. Beattey is the Managing Member of The Beattey Group and Adult Services Director of Park Avenue Neuropsychology.  He previously served as a full-time member of the faculty at Arizona State University's School of Social and Behavioral Sciences, as Legal Director for a non-profit policy organization, and as a local prosecutor.  Dr. Beattey is the author of a number of peer reviewed empirical studies that have been published in clinical and public policy journals, as well as a frequent contributor to edited volumes, professional conferences, and other professional works, including being co-editor of The Ethical Practice of Forensic Psychology: A casebook published by Oxford University Press.
