welcome!
This is the place for anyone who has questions about what I do or who wants to check out what I've been getting up to. I get to do some pretty neat stuff, so I'm glad you're here and I look forward to hearing from you.
For those of you who don't know me yet, I am a clinical and forensic psychologist with a focus on neuropsychological assessment and interventions. I do lots of different types of clinical and forensic psychological and neuropsychological assessments and some evidence-based treatment, as well. I'm Chief of Psychology and Co-Director of the Center for Brain Health at Fairfax Hospital in the Pacific Northwest, and I work with Park Avenue Neuropsychology, where I'm the Director of Adult Services. I'm also the managing member of The Beattey Group, PLLC.
Also an attorney, I have a small firm called beatteyLAW. I don't offer legal services to the general public, but do help out some non-profits and closely held organizations from time to time. In the past, I worked as Legal Director for a non-profit policy organization, a civil litigator, and as a local prosecutor
I teach and conduct research that is unified by a focus on evidence-based decision making in clinical, legal, and public policy contexts. I used to teach full time as a full-time member of the faculty at Arizona State University's School of Social and Behavioral Sciences.
I'm the author of a number of peer reviewed empirical studies that have been published in clinical and public policy journals, as well as a frequent contributor to edited volumes, professional conferences, and other professional works, including being co-editor of The Ethical Practice of Forensic Psychology: A casebook published by Oxford University Press. You can see more details about these publications here.
